After a career in both private and government sectors, in Australia and Canada, I returned home to Canberra. While raising my family, I became interested in what it means to be human, to feel the highs and lows of the challenges we all face in life, to feel connected to self and others, and to seek and find meaning and purpose in life.

Since 2013, I have been involved in pastoral care and ministry. Through this work I became interested in the intersection of theology and psychology, which led me to return to tertiary study, obtaining qualifications in counselling and family therapy.

I am a qualified and registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Australia’s largest single registration body for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. This means that I am bound by their Code of Ethics and Practice, that I have current and comprehensive Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance, and that I meet their annual Supervision and Professional Development requirements. In short, this ensures that I am well trained to provide you with the highest level of professional support.

I work as a Counsellor & Family Therapist in a private practice in a peaceful and picturesque rural environment in Canberra, supporting people through challenges such as anxiety & depression, stress management, communication conflicts, pre/post marriage counselling, family therapy (including families with children on the Autism spectrum) and trauma, grief & loss. I have an interest in the relationship between spirituality and mental health, and offer Christian Counselling services to members of a range of churches across Canberra.

'Angie helped me find my own journey instead of trying to walk everyone else’s journey. This was incredibly liberating for me (once I got it!) and helped me focus on what and who I can and cannot influence and change. To be able to understand that I am not responsible for everything and everyone’s decision helped me drop my shoulders and breathe for the first time in a long time. Angie walked my journey with me to find a happier place which has improved my relationship with my 18 year old son and helped me cope better with life in general. My hour with Angie every week was my oasis and sustained me until I was able to walk the journey on my own. #notmyjourney became my motto and is a gentle reminder to stop when I start trying to walk someone else’s journey. As Angie says: “go gently…. no blame…. And BREATHE!'
